Get the Real You Dressed

Embody Who You Are

While it may seem a bit odd that it's coming from your closet, learning how to get the real you dressed is one of the great gifts of midlife. This is your invitation to stop dressing for who you were told to be, and start dressing for who you actually are. It's the season to claim what you love and what you want more of in your life.

At this threshold, we begin with appearance because appearance is your identity shown to the world. The way you dress, the colors you wear, the jewelry you choose, the shape and movement of your clothing, your glasses, shoes, hair, and the accessories you reach for again and again are all part of how you communicate who you are.

As the founder and creative director of Gwenath Chase Atelier, my role is to help you make thoughtful style choices based on your identity, so what you show on the outside authentically embodies who you are on the inside.

You open your closet and see plenty of clothes, but few of them feel like you.

Some belong to a previous version of your life. Some were bought for your body before it changed. Some made sense for a job, relationship, or season that you've now moved beyond. Others are beautiful pieces that you never reach for and can't explain why.

What you do know is that somewhere along the way, getting dressed became harder than it used to be.

Identity Becomes Style

There is an invisible part of you and a visible part of you. Your authentic style is where the two meet.

You may already sense that certain colors make you feel more alive. Some clothes settle onto your body like they were made for it, while others never feel right, no matter how lovely or expensive they are. You keep returning to the same fabrics, silhouettes, or pieces of jewelry, over and over, without knowing exactly why.

Those preferences aren't random. They're clues.

Your Book of You has already helped identify the qualities that belong to you through your Astro-Physique Blueprint™, coloring, proportions, and the matter that informs the ways you move through the world.

In Getting the Real You Dressed, we take those qualities and ask how they want to be embodied and expressed in form. You begin to understand which colors belong in your wardrobe, which shapes and proportions work in harmony with your physique, and how texture, movement, jewelry, and accessories support your natural expression.

This Is Not Your Traditional Styling

If you just want someone to choose an outfit that fits well and looks fashionable, there are many people who can do that.

That is not what I do.

Any stylist can show you what is available in a store. I want to help you understand why something works for you, why another thing does not, and how to make those decisions for yourself.

I'm not interested in dressing you like me, someone you saw in a magazine, or according to a trend. If I'm wearing glasses that work beautifully with my coloring, I don't want to put you in my glasses. I want to help you find the ones that are meant for your face, your coloring, and embody your unique expression in the world.

The more clearly you understand your own center point, the easier it becomes to recognize what supports your unique expression and what pulls you away from it.

Your center point is the place within you that feels most grounded and alive. It is made up of the qualities, values, preferences, instincts, and ways of moving through the world that remain yours even as your circumstances, relationships, work, body, and responsibilities change.

When you know your center point, it becomes a steady reference for your choices. What you wear, what you buy, what you keep, and what you let go can all be considered through the lens of whether something feels aligned with who you are. Instead of asking whether something is fashionable, age-appropriate, or what someone else thinks looks good on you, you begin to recognize what is genuinely yours.

From the Book of You to Getting the Real You Dressed

Your Book of You gives us the foundation. In Getting the Real You Dressed, we bring your identity into embodiment.

We work together to edit your existing wardrobe, build a capsule collection, and shop for pieces that connect with what you already own. We also explore how your Astro-Physique Blueprint™ can be uniquely expressed through clothing, eyewear, jewelry, and makeup. And we honor the heirlooms, talismans, scarves, and signature pieces that already carry part of your story—the ring from your mother, the scarf from a trip that changed you—finding their place in your authentic expression, rather than letting them sit forgotten in a drawer.

We're not building a wardrobe from scratch unless that's what you need. What we're doing is looking at what's already there, what still belongs, and what's needed to make the woman you are today and your wardrobe feel creative, connected, and coherent.

Style That Embodies Your Authentic Identity

Midlife brings change. All of us who are in it know this. Our bodies, work, and family lives often feel different, and so can our sense of freedom! We're given an exciting invitation to look at our wardrobes—and our lives—with fresh eyes and ask what connects, embodies, and reflects the exquisite women we are today.

It’s my strong belief that a woman's wardrobe should support the life she’s actually living. What you need for work, travel, time at home, dinner out, a wedding, a weekend away, or time with family may be completely different, but each of those pieces can still belong to the same woman.

I also think of wardrobe pieces as being with us for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Some pieces have a specific purpose. Some belong to a particular chapter of your life. Others become signature pieces, heirlooms, talismans, or treasured objects that carry meaning and become part of your visible story.

And, a wardrobe should be dynamic! You are still growing, changing, collecting experiences, and moving into future versions of yourself. Your style gets to have room to evolve as you evolve.

So…

What do you actually need your wardrobe to do for you now?

What pieces work together easily, and where do you want more beauty, personality, or expression?

The goal is not to create one fixed wardrobe and call it good. Rather, our work together is to help you understand how to build and steward a wardrobe that continues to work for your life and stay connected to your authentic identity.

When you understand that, your wardrobe becomes more than a collection of clothes. It becomes a visible expression of who you are now and the beautiful life that you are continuing to create.
